Re. The Firestone tires.  Years ago I was talking with a buyer for Rolls Royce dealer in my area.  I asked why Firestone tires, why no spare?  He laughed and said, Rolls Royce doesn't need a spare.  Firestone was the only company that could supply tires to Rolls Royce meeting their extreme requirements.

He seemed like a nice guy.

That feller in the black overcoat in the center immediately made me think of this.

JFK by not wearing a hat pretty much wiped out the men’s hat industry.

Maybe it was the hat industry that took him out. It would explain the headshot.

Odd how drab seemed to exemplify the communist and socialist countries

I was in East Europe when the wall fell.

EVERYTHING WAS BEIGE. Most depressing cities were the ones with the most Soviet control.

Look in your glass before drinking with them.

Understand they would stand around like that and when a drunk came out they would talk them into signing on the dotted line and they woke up in uniform.

Very likely my grandmother worked on that exact line. She worked the chicken farms all her teen years, she hated chickens.
