Borg warner
Not Criminals. Actual Rats! the four-legged kind with tails... New Orleans police battling drug-fueled rats in headquarters By Luke Gentile March 13, 2024 The Washington Examiner Officers with the New Orleans Police Department are facing down drug-fueled rats after the vermin broke into the evidence room of their deteriorating headquarters. “The rats are eating our marijuana,” NOPD Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick informed members of the City Council’s Criminal Justice Committee on Monday, according to a report. “They’re all high.” The rats have not only managed to infest the South Broad Street facility, where they have littered areas and desks with feces, but they have also been enjoying a healthy supply of narcotics from the evidence room, according to Kirkpatrick. “It is not just at police headquarters. It is all the districts. The uncleanliness is off the charts,” she said. “The janitorial cleaning [team] deserves an award trying to clean what is uncleanable.” This drug-fueled rodent crisis arrived as Kirkpatrick conducts lobbying efforts to move the NOPD headquarters to a high rise in the downtown area, the report noted.A 10-year lease for the two upper floors of 1615 Poydras Tower is being eyed, and a motion to authorize a pending lease has been cleared by a committee. The move would be a big step and a “Herculean lift,” Chief Administrative Officer Gilbert Montano said. “I foresee most of the criminal justice agencies will have to be temporarily housed as we address these old decrepit buildings,” Montano said. The current headquarters building, a 1968 structure, has fallen into “dire straits,” he said, and Kirkpatrick declared it is a “turn off” to out-of-state transfers. “It’s not OK, and it’s not OK for people to be treated that way and be called valued,” she said. 2

It's a burn down, not even a long term one, and LD50 is less than 50 mg/kg. So it carries the skull and crossbones label along with the words danger poison. It looks like orange hi c. Then again so does nitro glycerin with safener. Both deadly. Old school rat poison causes internal hemorrhaging by blood thinning. The newer ones are neurotoxins. They should try sprinkling fly bait in the evidence room. As long as there is a fly problem, putting out flybait isn't an issue. You are supposed to exclude everything that's not a fly from contact with the stuff though. That's some bad stuff.

It killed rats in the warehouse but wouldn’t penetrate the storage containers. Then some officer thought it was inhumane so they went back to traps. They originally went to the 410 because the traps didn’t work.
minervadoe
If the pot hasn't been heated up properly (and then covered in oil), the rats aren't actually getting high. Off topic, I know; just sayin'.

One calls it a "delicacy" when you're caught eating something that makes civilized people puke. Vegan is Lakota for "lousy hunter". 1

If you’re really nefarious and want to make sure you get em add antifreeze to the brew. Don’t eat them
