The towers were only twenty years old at that point, and only survived another 8 years before they were destroyed in the Sept 11th attacks. But no one could have predicted the effects of having airliners full of jet fuel burning in the upper floors. There are other designs out there that would not have stood five minutes after the impact. Making retaliation for a crime against America so horrific that even the most insane would have nightmares for the fleeting thought isn't something that the US will or can stomach. I know, maybe only 10% of Hollywood, but they sure do get a lot of press coverage. Don't think for a second AOlosi wouldn't do it to Christians and Jews if she had the power.
