tous
How many young'uns even know what lake pipes are? Or that the Los Angeles Lakers are named that because they originated in Minnesota? Or that the St.Louis football Cardinals swiped the team from Chicago before Arizona swiped it from them? 1
Administrators Eric Posted October 11, 2022 Author Administrators Share Posted October 11, 2022 I am not a big fan of the extra chrome under the hood, but otherwise, this is a gorgeous ride. My first car was a 1963 Impala 4-door, in 1984. I would have loved for it to have been a 2-door stick, but beggar's can't be choosers. It was a great old boat though. It had a 327/Powerglide, with power everything and A/C. It was the quintessential little old lady car, bought from the estate of one of my grandparent's friends. It had less than 70,000 miles on it when I got it.

Schmidt Meister
Somebody's selling this 1945 Willys CJ2A on Hemmings. 1945 is the first year they were available for purchase by civilians. Their asking price is 13,200. 3

IIRC A/C was rare in 1963, mayve retrofitted?

IIRC A/C was rare in 1963, mayve retrofitted? It was fairly uncommon. In that era, A/C was usually a dealer-installed option, with the evaporator/airbox & controls slung under the dash, like in the Impala pictured above. There were American cars that far back that offered A/C as a factory option, but not a lot of them. Interestingly enough though, my Impala DID have factory-installed A/C, not an underdash unit, so it was available with factory A/C in 1963.

Those few that have speculated about Eric's fuzzy parts mysteriously vanished, never to be heard from again. Except for gwalch. It is rumored that gwalch knows much about a lot of people's fuzzy parts, especially Eric's, but gwalch isn't talking. Probably doesn't want to back end of a 1990s Nissan Maxima welded to his ass.
