Some of the weirdest looking cars ever made were the concept cars made by the major manufacturers, though not all of them were weird looking. One notable exception was teh Buick Y job. Another one  was the 1955 Lincoln Futura show car, which while not exactly beautiful, was so futuristic looking that it was later used virtually unchanged in the 60's as the Batmobile.

Here is a good video on the subject with a few different examples.

1987 XF58 Studebaker 'Ice Princess'

The car was built in 1987 and in 2018 sold for $38,500 at a Russo & Frank auction in Scottsdale, Arizona.
This custom car is the brain child of Richard Fletcher who wanted to create a concept car as if it was made by Studebaker in the 1950s. The car itself is made up of Studebaker and Cadillac parts as well as a bunch of custom made bits. It appeared in 2020 at the Chicago Auto Show as part of the Klairmount Kollection, a touring collection of cars originally created by the World War II vet turned real estate developer.
Power is delivered through a later model 8.2-liter Cadillac engine.
The nose is strictly Studebaker, reflecting the bullet nose design of the 1950 Studebaker Champion, Commander, and Land Cruiser. It's framed by custom headlights and a dual axle front end for a total length of 20 feet. The long sweeping hood ends in another 50s flourish, the double bubble canopy cockpit.
There’s also side exiting exhaust pipes and massive rear fins.

Designed by a Russian, built in Germany and powered by a Fiat engine. What could go wrong?

Check it out, those are wires or strings holding the doors shut and according to the articles, the handbrake is a brick that you keep in the floorboard and chock the tire when you get out, like in 'The Gods Are Crazy."

But overall, I think the design, with some modifications, is very worthwhile, for a utility vehicle.
