Administrators Eric Posted January 24, 2023 Administrators Share Posted January 24, 2023 I would lose the scoop and the stripes, but otherwise, I would drive the wheels off this thing, if it is real. There are so many Photochop images online anymore that if I haven’t seen one myself, I have to question the damn pics. This might be legit though. The window and body lines are right on the Fairmont wagon part and it looks like a Fox-body Mustang front fender might line up with the Fairmont doors. If so, it is strange that I never saw someone put a Fox body Mustang front clip on a Fairmont before. I think I would probably lose the back doors entirely though, rather than just shaving the door handles. Or maybe do a bit of Euro styling and eliminate the driver’s side rear door, while leaving the passenger side rear door.

Mustang Nosed 1981 Ford Fairmont Is A Big Block Powered, BangShifty Dream Machine. (Bang shift 2017) If you can get past the kind of jarring nose, you’ll love this car. The 514 big block Ford is the thumping heart of the machine and the seller estimates that the large block makes some 650hp, making this thing an absolute riot to drive. Carol Hines built the engine and that’s an awesome thing because Hines is a longtime drag racer who is a well respected engine builder. The car has a complete cage in it and is finished to a really high standard. We dig the dash layout with the gauges and switches as well. Ford Mustang-Fairmont Mashup is One Wild Ride (mustangforums.com 2017) Here’s proof that beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder, even when it comes to Mustangs. Though you could argue that this one-of-a-kind creation, featured in a Ford Muscle report, really isn’t a Mustang at all. Sure, its face is every bit of a ‘Stang, specifically a Fox Body. And under the hood is a 514 cubic inch Super Cobra Jet engine with aluminum heads. Again, that’s pure Mustang. But the rest of the car was formerly a ho-hum 1981 Fairmont wagon, a near-forgotten platform-mate of the versatile Fox. Backing up that power is a C6 automatic transmission. The rest of the build is pretty much what you’d expect from an old-school Pro Style street car. For Sale: 1981 Ford Fairmont in West Deptford, New Jersey (classiccars.com - 2017) (hear it run at 3:20 in the video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EtnptxGeEI4&t=237s) Now available in our Philly location is a 1981 Ford Fairmont/Mustang wagon built for the Pro Touring circuit with no expenses spared.
