Production started in the mid-1930s. I’m guessing it was built as an import to the UK, but that was a volatile time. I can’t imagine there were a ton of German imports being bought in England.
Administrators Eric Posted January 2, 2023 Administrators Share Posted January 2, 2023 A 1911 Hotchkiss. Those were some complicated lines for a car's cab, in 1911. I imagine those were pricey cars back then.

I don't know what the relationship was between all of them. Anyway, the Austin Allegro Vanden Plas edition was available with that grille.

This was designed by the British Leyland car designer that went on to design the Triumph TR-7. The guy was queer for door stops, I guess. 1
Administrators Eric Posted January 3, 2023 Administrators Share Posted January 3, 2023 1957 Chrysler Ghia Dart 400 concept. Chrysler sure was enamored with Ghia in the fifties. I wonder if some guy at NASA got the idea of a lifting body reentry vehicle from this thing?

Administrators Eric Posted January 4, 2023 Administrators Share Posted January 4, 2023 I don't know what this prototype's model number was, but it was called the Black Bullet. That seems silly since it isn't black and it's not a bullet, although with that wonky control surface arrangement, it's flight path may well have been ballistic. 2 1 1

This custom car is the brain child of Richard Fletcher who wanted to create a concept car as if it was made by Studebaker in the 1950s. The car itself is made up of Studebaker and Cadillac parts as well as a bunch of custom made bits. It appeared in 2020 at the Chicago Auto Show as part of the Klairmount Kollection, a touring collection of cars originally created by the World War II vet turned real estate developer. Power is delivered through a later model 8.2-liter Cadillac engine. The nose is strictly Studebaker, reflecting the bullet nose design of the 1950 Studebaker Champion, Commander, and Land Cruiser. It's framed by custom headlights and a dual axle front end for a total length of 20 feet. The long sweeping hood ends in another 50s flourish, the double bubble canopy cockpit. There’s also side exiting exhaust pipes and massive rear fins. I wouldn't buy it but I can't see them getting any profit for $38,000.

'One man's treasure is another man's trash.' I wouldn't buy it either and I think the man that pays more than the scrap value is getting ripped off on this car.
