It came up here from the old growth timber in the PNW. It's the real McCoy. I have a bunch of big saws. Some larger than this one. 2

Cheygriz
Up here in the high country, all we can get is Aspen, Pine, cedar, Spruce, etc. I really miss the old low country wood like Oak, Hickory, and Pecan.

I used them in the cedar mills back in my youth, and know what work savers they are. I have a couple old original ones with long wood handles, and have made a few of my own for different tasks. They really shine when I cut wood from logs I haul back to my shop in the end dump. I hook the firewood right into the loader bucket. No bending or lifting. Then park the loader next to the log splitter with the bucket a couple feet off the ground. Go from the bucket to the splitter to the shed without bending and lifting. When cutting in the woods I use the hookaroon to put the cut wood into a pile I can back the pickup to for loading.

In my stove I burn a mix of spruce and birch. I use cottonwood and aspen in my bonfire pit. Keeps the bugs away, smells good, and no sparks. I love the smell of cedar, but we don't have any around here.
