No heart catheter today. One more day. At least mom seems to be doing better today.
the doctor seems to think that a pacemaker will take care of her issues. So they will probably do the heart catheter and then follow up right after with putting in the pacemaker.

Thank you for the update. More prayers sent. tom.

They are doing the heart catheter right now.

Had one of those a couple months ago. I like the new age closure they use, not hours on end with sandbags in your lap.

Wanted to go home a few hours later but my very mothering nurse wouldn't even allow me going to the restroom. Neither would her relief for the night shift. Sure hard to hold a grudge over it though and they were right there for every little thing. Spent 2 nights and out the door. Nothing like the old days.

I didn't know I didn't feel good, other than the pain from the heart attack, till I felt so much better.

Best wishes and prayers for a complete recovery.

Any updates?

They might be able to clear it up with just a balloon/stent.  The stent doctor wasn’t here today. So mom’s doctor needed his opinion. He thinks he can clear up a narrowing of one the blood vessels and solve her problems. If the other doctor agrees with his assessment then she would probably not need a pacemaker. They have taken a lot of fluid off mom. She has dropped about 20 pounds since she got here.

CHF does that. Glad she is feeling better and sorry no one can make a decision.  What did they do?

Where is she? Sounds like a place I would avoid, no matter how nice they are.

It really is a good hospital.  I am really simplifying things.  All the doctors are highly specialized.  It will probably be tomorrow or friday before they do another procedure.  The doctor who wasn't there is basically like a stent specialist.  There is some narrowing in one of the arteries and they need to see if a stent can fix it well enough to solve the problems.

My Son-in-Law had chest pains and they put 5 stents in him.  He lost weight and is doing great now.......

Sounds too narrow. Not saying they are what I am thinking, but anyone can tell you how good they are. Prove it. If it has to be done by committee, well, they will maybe eventually get it done. Now she needs a second VERY invasive procedure though.

I don't have a dog in the fight.

Hoping all goes well.

It is nationally recognized.  They did her prior heart procedures.

Stent was done this morning.  She is expected to discharge to a local nursing home for rehab tomorrow.  It is the best place in town of the 3 main facilities.

I hope it's all over for both of you.  Then, Enjoy life!!

Mom is in the nursing home.  I visited her Saturday before work.  However she was diagnosed with covid on Sunday.  She has no symptoms.  But they have started her on medicine for it.  My sister who was down there with her also tested positive.  And just a  few minutes ago the home test I took was a pretty clear positive.  So Covid for everybody, yay. I will check with my doctor in the morning and see what I need to do next.

Hopefully the symptoms are mild and it runs it's course quickly for all of your family.

I’ve had worse cases of bronchitis. Waiting on prescription to be ready. It’s more annoying than deabilitating. Just trying to rest mostly.
