Who could have predicted this?

I'm snickering because everyone that said anyone who thinks the virus came from the Wuhan lab is a right wing conspiracy nut... is now having to listen to the MSM say "the virus may actually have come from the Wuhan lab..."  ROFL.  Not because they were weaponizing it, of course, but because they were trying to "get ahead" of the next SARS or MERS epidemic... and their safety protocols were "insufficient"

They can always hide behind “may”

”possible indication”

”some evidence suggests”

or the questioning

”could it be that?”

“how could this be?”

will we ever know for sure? Not likely. It took years after the fall of the USSR for many records to be released

China, for all it's advancements, is not all that different in many ways than it was 2,000 years ago.  There is a major difference between the life the chairman of the commie party lives and the bat eating wet market guy who slugs it out for a living.

This is all one big lie.  They want to do whatever they can to support the dictatorship.

Lots are people saying it's global warming.

I'm all about taking care of our planet.   You live in a majestic place.   Call me a Boy Scout but i think we should leave it better than we found it.  That's just being a good caretaker of the gift.

But let's be realistic.   This virus did not spread because of man's ability to foul his own nest.

There is a world of difference between an environmentalist and a conservationist

Ayep.   I love to hunt and fish and if it's going to be there we have to do what's right for it.

Our natural world is a wonderful thing.

The WHO should want it shut down regardless of corona, it is disgusting.

The WHO and the UN.

We need out of both.  And while were at it.  They can move to a new building outside of the US.

From the article:

"...But the market’s vendors and neighboring residents cannot wait anymore, as many vendors are in need of income while the demand for fresh food has increased...."

I believe the problem is that, if you shut down your economy, you are also shutting down the food supply.  It doesn't take very long before you suddenly find that the food you want and need will have to wait a "season" to be back into the supply chain.

This sneaks up on you, if you don't pay attention, and the food supply can be effected the same as the toilet paper supply when people start buying in fear that it may not be there tomorrow.  Suddenly you break this supply chain and it takes very little time for people to suffer if they have no food stocks to work from.

Many people, especially in high density areas, are used to going around the corner to pick up food for the day or week, and if that's not there, and it takes time to restock the shelves, you have little recourse.  Most of the public doesn not envision any problem so they don't have any recourse in food stocks or even financial savings.

If this happens, then the fury of the people starts to work against the government, for not making sure these supply chains aren't protected from failure.

This is, I believe, a significant factor in the feds saying that we must think of opening our economy back up again.  Meanwhile, the petty politicians, as in my state, who have shut their states down in an overreaction to a virus, are reluctant to let people go back to work because their myopic political thought process cannot handle more than a few crisis at a time.

By the time the states politicians agree to reopen their economies, it may be too late to stop many from suffering for the delay in time to recognize the fall, and correct it before great damage is done.  Reaction takes time and we may not be able to afford that time!

We see a group of states that say, "our lockdown is showing good results" so they maintain that to keep people locked down will produce even better results.

The real problem is when you look at the results and ignore what's happening to the people involved.  Politicians are notoriously guilty of over reacting to one problem while ignoring the others.  These are your idiot neighbors, not intellectuals trained in economics, management, and logistics.

We must get the economy back on track as soon as we can.  States politicians always follow the crowd and need the other lemmings to do what must be done before they will too.  These people will lead us over the cliff if no one stops them.

Safety should not come at the expense of our future.

I couldn't get past the cart full of gutted dogs.  I hate China!

One of my daughters was in China on a buying trip for the importer she worked for.  She said she almost lost her lunch and had a hard time stopping crying, when she saw a vendor's stall with butchered dogs hanging on display.  All my extended family have dogs and we see them as members of our family.

It's their culture, but one I  could never embrace for so many reasons.

Cause they killed off all the deer a couple thousand years ago.

A coworker did some work in China.  An employee invited him to dinner.  At the "house", there were a bunch of puppies tied to the front porch.  My friend petted and made a small fuss over them.

Later,  his host told him that acknowledging food in any way,  was very poor manners.

Right?

They should just go to Waffle House.

Or the Cheesecake Factory.

Or perhaps they could NOT be cavemen that'll eat anything and then get into the 21st century.  Oh, and become human!
