Seems the filled booklet was worth only $1.20 cash but more toward a purchase. https://flashbak.com/livin-the-dream-with-green-stamps-a-1975-catalog-26187/ Even gas station gave Green Stamps. For a while every business seemed to give them.

It came with the lot completely sodded, an attached garage, Concrete Driveway, Washer and Dryer, Water heater and furnace. Another course of block to increase the headroom in the basement cost an additional $100. House payments were $140 a month. In 1963.

The station I worked at did. One of the other employees wasn't handing out stamps but taking them at the end of the night. He put his stolen stamps in my shirt pocket which was hanging in the back room next to his. I put on my shirt and visited with my girlfreind after work. When my girlfriend reached around my neck and found them, she squealed with delight. tom.
