Back in those days, a sleeper was a four-door Belvedere with a Hemi or a 440 up front.

The only 'sleeper' I've ever had was a Granada with a 427 that came out of a wrecked Highway Patrol LTD II. That Granada was a blast to drive and NOBODY expected a Granada to be fast.

I like the color but yeah, I'd have to change the tires. What little bit of an article there was says that the builder intended it to be a sleeper. But cars like that don't make good sleepers. People expect old Chargers to have a little bit of oomph.

I like the color - Redneck Racing Green, maybe. ;)

A friend acquaintance of mine in high school had a Sports Fury with a 440 in it. He told everybody it was a 383. Dealer was in Atlanta so no one could check. I just learned the truth recently.

An old friend bought a Belvedere back then. Dark blue with black wheels and small hubcaps. 426 Hemi under the hood. I went with him when he test drove it. It chirped tires when it shifted gears (automatic transmission). He still has it. tom.

Whoever thought that that is a good color for that automobile needs to be taken out back behind the barn and horse whipped.

The galoot that suggested those skinny little tires needs to be second in line to be corrected.

:miff:

Those tires and rims, in spite of the dog dish hub caps, are also not at all in keeping with the overall "Sleeper" concept. :51:

Friend where I used to work restored some cars, possibly including one of these. He said it was best to restore to the factory original paint scheme. Second best he said was red.

The bumpers and grille on that car weigh as much as a small Honda !!

By far my favorite Fiat. This is the Ferrari-powered Fiat Dino. Ferrari needed to have the 2.4L V-6 engine in at least 500 production cars to be able to run it competitively, so they struck a deal with Fiat to build them.

This is the engine, but with the transverse transaxle installed, as it would be in a Ferrari 246 Dino.
