crockett
The left is in total control. People have been brainwashed and demoralized for many years. One part is stupid enough to believe the lies of the Dems and actually voted for the incoming power grab that will result in the loss of freedom as well as rights, and the other part is too comfortable to do anything about this illegal overtake through big tech, social media and mainstream media that suppresses, censors, manipulates, twists and bans conservative voices for at least 5 years now. Too many people can't see the obvious manipulation because they don't care enough to look reality in the face. it scares them. Most people are weak ass followers and not leaders to begin with. Offer people some freebees and fake ass safety, and they will throw away any liberty and rights. Good job! 3
Ramjet38
Again, a lack of Republican turn out assured the countries destruction. Hope those that sat home are happy and don't complain when socialism comes a knocking at their door. 2

Those voting for socialism are the first to crumble when that card house falters due to the lack of tax revenue to keep it going, and the regime killing any resistance in order to keep the power they just gained. 3
Historian
A few observations: They will still need 2/3rds of the House to pass any bill to the senate. They do not have a 2/3rds majority. They have an eight vote majority. They will have to force it with a simple majority vote. Depending on what they do that will be a major problem for them in two years. Nancy can't last another two years. They have lit a fire under us. We are motivated. You can bet the house returns to the Republicans in 2 years. We need to learn to play THEIR game and get out there and win. Edited January 6, 2021 by Historian 3

There is a march on the White House right now, and only hundreds showed up. With all the manipulation going on, I'm not so sure that we can take back anything through voting. And conservatives are a dying breed. Look at the younger generation. Most don't care for liberty or rights, heck they are stuck with their head in smart phones and video games. Many refuse to leave the house of their parents, they will need the state to take care of them eventually. The left wing system created the perfect following: a bunch of confused followers, depended on future handouts, all in exchange for their vote and support. Today was the turning point for America, Liberty, the Republic, and The People. At least in my book. I'd love to be wrong, but my intuition was never so strong. My intuition that allows me to be right in 93% of all my day trades. We shall see...

He is a master promoter and if that is what he is reduced to by the Big Steal, then he is going to create and organize to the end of his days. You ain't seen nothing yet. I would expect to see him pump cash into OANN, or some other existing network and energize some political organizations that need a little direction.

There are a few specific types of things the House does that requires a super majority, like amendments or overriding a veto, but most legislation passes with a simple majority in the House. Senate rules allow for legislation to be filibustered, which can't be ended with a simple majority vote, but the rule can be changed with a simple majority vote and I'll bet that will happen the first time the Republicans try to filibuster. 1

Ayep. I made a mistake in typing that. I stand corrected. Simple majority is all it takes. Thank you. Coffee must not have been working. I will fly it that way for a week and then, take it down. I will fly it only on Pearl Harbor day and Memorial day I really can't talk about this the way I'd like to because Eric would ban me. 2

Brad
I'm as unhappy as anybody about the election results, but IIRC, Obama had both houses for a while and they were not able to squash us. They won't be able to this time either. Success and well-being are still 95%+ a function of the performance of the individual, family, or company. There are few examples of when this isn't true. 2
NPTim
If this illegitimate election, due to wide spread cheating, is allowed to stand, then, as we see in Georgia, voting no longer is a means to redress grievances at the ballot box. Unless this is addressed, the voter fraud and other cheating practices, no voting will extract this invasive tumor. 4

Certainly Hitler and Stalin had the “leaders” of the groups which helped them gain power liquidated as soon as practical to consolidate their power. Suspect all other leaders of Communist/Socialist/Fascist takeovers have done the same. Wonder how valuable the bicycle lock swinging professor from California will be now? The one who escaped most if not all criminal charges for assault with a deadly weapon. 2
Batesmotel
My wife is part of a couple online art communities. They are usually very apolitical. Right now a bunch of people are ranting about how destroying the Republicans will finally bring true democracy. My wife asked how is a single party system democratic? A couple people got her point. The rest are clueless about what it means. Edited January 6, 2021 by Batesmotel 2

How many small businesses have been killed by the COVID shutdowns plus riots and torching and lootings - AKA peaceful protests? Obama and his Democrats took over control of health care his first two years - one of the eight planks Alinsky supposedly said was necessary for a Socialist takeover. https://reflectionsonitaly.blog/2016/11/01/saul-alinskys-eight-steps-to-socialism/ 2
Swampfox762
Even as they are storming the capital building, Pence says he won't challenge the Electoral votes. The POS... I always knew he was a *****. The country has gone completely socialist. 2 years from now they will already have killed the filibuster completely, and will probably change the number of members on the supreme court. The damage they will do in 2 years, the republic will never recover. Now they have learned that cheating will never be challenged, they will never be stopped. If it wasn't done this time...it never will be again. They will be enacting deadly legislation on gun control too. God damn the supreme court and the turn coat Rinos in the republican party...God Damn them to hell... 5 2
