Administrators Eric Posted August 22, 2019 Administrators Share Posted August 22, 2019 Is anyone following the progress of The Silver Spitfire? Apparently, some guy is flying it around the world. I’ve seen a few posts about it on FB. Beautiful bird. 5

tadbart
Gorgeous bird! Ya know, if some company started manufacturing those again for civilian use, they'd probably sell every single one that came off the line, at any price.

Cubdriver
The Spit is definitely the flying machine raised to a high art form. A stunningly beautiful bird. -Pat 2
janice6
It is surprising. You look at the bird and know it is meant to fly. Some aircraft look like contradictions.

A few years ago the commercial aircraft were looking at the significant weight of painting their planes. Some went without, to increase efficiency and profitability, but I don't know what the resolution was. They seem to be painted now.
