Huaco Kid Posted May 2, 2021 Share Posted May 2, 2021 (edited) We had one puffer-belly go by, in Waco, thirty feet from our back door (I forget it's name). It was it's last run, going into a museum. The sound and "puff-puff" smoke was truly awe inspiring. >We heard it coming from five miles away< We'd throw beer cans at all the other trains, 24 / 7. But we "WOOOO!" Huaco Kid Posted May 8, 2021 Share Posted May 8, 2021 I was somewhere (Allentown?) central PA this week and saw a puffer-belly chugging down the tracks. Full-sized, but small. It looked, pretty much, totally unrestored. It was pulling a couple passenger cars. Also pretty unrestored looking. My instant first thought was that I need to get pictures. But I was going 35, and it was going .4, so I'd have to turn around, and run after it on foot, or something. And it was peeling off the main road. And that's how you get hurt. Chasing trains. So I committed it to memory. Good thing I documented it.
