Southern Railway, in cooperation with Norfolk and Western, operated “The Tennessean” between Washington DC and Memphis. It featured Southern’s only streamlined steam locomotives and one of N&W’s streamlined J’s in Virginia and Southern diesels between Bristol and Memphis.

Just started reading this. Copyright 2012 so it might be the latest publication on the subject pointed toward the general public. First wreck discussed is September 2008 collusion between a Metrolink commuter train and a freight. The Metrolink train was supposed to stop but missed the signals because the engineer was busy texting.
