NPTim
Watching Blazing Saddles on TMC. They didn’t do a hatchet job on it. Anyone remember seeing it in the theater when it first came out? I swear I remember a scene where Bart tricks Mongo into going down a well wearing a diving helmet. Bart is cranking an air pump and then walks off, leaving Mongo without air down under water. Is this a false memory I’m having?

Batesmotel
Great movie. It is an attack on bigotry. Too bad Snowflakes can’t see that. 2
NPTim
Thanks, I’m glad to know I’m not off my rocker, in this case at least. They shouldn’t have cut those scenes, they’re great.
Batesmotel
A lot of great scenes used to make the initial trial release but got cut for the National release so it could be shown one more time in day. More theaters would want to carry it with more showings. Wonder if that happened here.
Maser
It's pretty funny that the person who wrote the script for Mongo's dialogue was none other than Richard Pryor. 1
Brad
Wow, I remember that scene! We own the movie and I've watched it quite a few times over the last year, and that scene isn't included. I had forgotten it until you brought it up Edited February 8, 2021 by Brad 1

aomagrat
I saw Blazing Saddles in the theater when I was 16. Since it was rated R they almost didn't let me in, but since my girlfriend was 18, they let me slide.

The R rating your age don't matter so long as an adult is with you.
