janice6
I have to say a dog also. I have had a number of them and each one was different. However, each one seemed devoted to me, and I to them in return. I like all critters, but dogs seem to have a strange harmony with man. 4

SC Tiger
Assuming I can't have Alexa Davalos....... I am assuming we can somehow make this pet friendly and domesticated. Edited December 7, 2018 by SC Tiger

Citra47
Would have to be a dog, "man's best friend". We have raised Briard's for a number of years and after a goodnight snuggle, my favorite bitch takes up her nightly guard duty.

I'm pretty sure he'll rip my throat out and eat my entrails before he get's anywhere near that big. Sometimes he just studies you too hard, learning your habits and patterns and noting your weaknesses and vulnerabilities.

I'd just about rather fight a hyena than any cat larger than a housecat. But man, once you got him chilled out... how badass would that be? Zonny
So is the question “if it were possible/practical to domesticate” or as Mother Nature presents them now? Quite a difference. There’s a reason dogs are common pets...it’s realistic, it works.
KWalrad
I was given a bull calf for my eighth birthday. I named him Herman. Fed him and hung out with every spare moment that I had. He'd follow me around the farm like a dog, and even let me ride him. One day we de-horned and castrated him and he never quite trusted me after that. He was correct in his thinking, because a year or so later we took him to the butcher. Herman was the best (tasting) pet I ever had.
