All of the couplings coming together and the wheels (brakes?) screeching, was annoying. And then they'd sit for hours, so you fall fast asleep again. And then they'd start going. All of the couplings taking up slack would create a roar that started miles away, and slowly got louder, for a full two minutes, until the crashing din hit right next to the house.
