I live in a small town named Gas City.

It was originally Harrisburg.

When wildcatters searching for oil struck a huge pocket of natural gas the town fathers decided to rename the town, and give away free natural gas

to any industry that would move here.

Gas lasted 10 years then the wells went dry.

this was at the turn of the 20th century.

There is a Dry Beaver Creek and a Woman Hollering Creek within a few miles of each other in central Arizona. I always wondered if they were related somehow. There is also a Homolovi Ruins exit on I-40, in eastern Arizona.
