They can climb a cinderblock wall. Crawl upside down on plywood. And they hunker-down for long periods, in nooks. But they are also clunky. Shut off the lights for several hours (they are mostly nocturnal) and wait quietly for them to start scavaging. Their shell bumps and knocks on everything. And hone in on them. Huaco Kid
The crab changed his shell. Which is what they do, but hard to figure out. Throw them on the beach, from whence they came, and they do it all the time. In the tank, it cost $20. Each. I have many $100's of shells, for a $3 crab, that he won't use. Put a bigger, new one in there, that works for me, and he'll roll it, inspect it, turn it all around, put his head in there, for two days..... rejected. $20. Huaco Kid
The baby crabs, their shells are dollars/dozen. I have twenty in there. They change all the time. The big crab costs $20. Rejected. $20. Rejected. $20. Rejected. $20. Rejected. $20. Rejected. He's kind of a bitch.
Huaco Kid
If I lived near a beach, I could go to the surf-store and probably buy the right ones. But on Amazon, it's just a guess.
Huaco Kid
By the time the baby crabs (they went through the x-ray also) get to the surf-store, they are 5 or 7 years old. They live as plankton in the ocean, for five years, first. The big one could be 30, easy. I've had him for 15 years.
Huaco Kid
I was in Florida, at the end of summer, and the sign said, "Free. Take us." So I took one. He was as big as a marble. I was on a plane the next day, and didn't buy a crabitat, so I dropped him in my backpack. He went through the xray. Where he got his super-powers. Now he's a baseball. Huaco Kid
When I got home, he lived in a big dog bowl, with driveway gravel in it, and didn't die. They are supposed to die in a week, but he didn't (superpowers).

Huaco Kid
And the three baby crabs, that I got last year, are still alive. I found them today, not for looking. Just to put your hand in there.... They, also, went through the xray. They have no, obvious, powers yet. But I didn't know they were still alive. Huaco Kid
Don't put your hand in there. Ok. You can. Crabs can move very fast, when they want to. Not hand bitingly fast, but. If they do get you. They clamp on. Don't let go. The big one bites big. The baby ones, you can let them clamp on your earlobes, and wear them like earrings. Don't let the big one anywhere near your neck.

Huaco Kid
The very first day I put the baby crabs in there, after xray powers, I figured that the big crab would just, immediately, pull their legs off, and eat their soft-body parts. He ignored them. And let them dig holes next to him. They're eating oatmeal tonight. I don't know why they like oatmeal. All in the bowl at once. Huaco Kid
They eat, mostly, wet catfood, from walmart, for 47c, per two-pack. sucks to be a cat. But, for each half 47c, they eat a coffee swizzle-stick of, .02c. And the 40 gal tank gets a swizzle of catfood. And Red's tank.
