An electrical production and distribution grid that can handle that is far in the future.

That's why Dems want us to sit at home with 3 masks on our ass while online grocery shopping on EBT cards. No gas nor transportation needed.

Mr. Fusion is the only viable generation option I can see. Transmission and distribution is going to require a lot more metal. At some point that's going to mean digging mines under persons of colour.

this.

there's evidence to say the last two huge California Wild Fires were caused by the grids being over taxed and they were areas with some of the highest ownership of E.V. Autos.

we`d need a whole new grid structure to be able to support even 30% E.V. ownership.

and Gasoline is still by Comparison cheap and plentiful.

until we have compact Nuclear plants or compact Diesel Electric engines.

Petroleum will be king.

Infrastructure not there, Battery tech isn't there, but may be by then. It still takes fuel to make electricity. Wind and solar just don't cut it and are dependent on the wind and weather. Both require fossil fuel to operate and manufacture, then you have the toxic material to dispose of after end of life, which isn't that long. Even when ginning magnificently, none can accommodate for surges in need.

Either wishful thinking or a prelude to the intentions on making the US a country without energy production, and they are doing that as we speak. It will be a disaster.

Still must have farmers and farm transportation. And someone must haul the Chinese product to stores.

This “political map” showing red and blue counties illustrates the grid problem. How much time and money will be required for power sources and grids to replace all internal combustion vehicles in the red counties with electric/battery ones? And for further consideration Montana at least has more Senators than Representatives.
