In the ocean, they're just as harmful to wildlife, in landfills they decompose, but at a very slow rate. Who actually composts? What states have compost facilities for recyclables? so ultimately they are handled like all other plastics, so the increased costs have no true reward to those that would like to do the right thing environmentally. 1 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
