26 States File Lawsuits in Federal Courts Over ATF Redefinition of Gun Dealers

Attorneys general representing half of the country sued the Biden administration on May 1 over a new rule requiring criminal background checks for all gun sales, including private sales.

Lawsuits in Florida, Texas, and Arkansas are asking the courts to block a rule from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) that redefines “engaged in the business” of dealing in firearms.

Gun Owners of America Senior Vice President Erich Pratt said allowing the rule to stand would send a dangerous message to other government agencies. In the statement, Mr. Pratt wrote that the rule must be struck down entirely.

“Anything less would further encourage this tyrannical administration to continue weaponizing vague statutes into policies that are meant to further harass and intimidate gun owners and dealers at every turn,” he said.

Police Arrested Pro-Palestinian Protester Atah Othman Allegedly Armed With Gun at USF

Othman’s charges included “possession of a firearm on school property,” which is a felony.

Many of the protesters were not students at the university, but outside agitators, NYPD Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Tarik Sheppard told "Your World Cavuto" on Thursday.

"They are professionals," he said."They may just fly in for a day or two and leave. You'll see them traveling around the country, and they have funding."

"The students are already passionate and upset about an issue, and now you have a person whispering in your ear 'Hey, you know, we should take over the building' or something like that," Sheppard added. "When young minds that are in that state, it's pretty easy to then be influenced by somebody who is a professional at manipulation."

Untrained minds are weak minds and very subject to manipulation.  Schools are supposed to train minds, so before they finish the student is susceptible, not knowledgeable.

According to a search of the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum, that bullshit quote never left the lips of John F, Kennedy.

And as far as "The Zionist Cycle" is concerned, one only needs to know a smattering of the history of Israel to know that it is completely anti-Semitic false propaganda put out to mislead the minds of weak people.

DeSantis signs law protecting Floridians from financial institutions promoting ESG.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation on Thursday protecting businesses from financial institutions that promote environmental, social and corporate governance policies, also known as ESG.
The legislation, HB 989, expands consumer protections and amends certain roles and responsibilities of the state’s chief financial officer position, currently held by Jimmy Patronis.
“This will enhance Florida’s consumers against ESG activism in our financial system and it protects them against a social credit system or discrimination based on their viewpoints,” DeSantis said during a press conference.
“There’s now going to be a more robust process for people who have been in this situation,” he said. “So if you own a firearm store, federal firearm license, following the laws everyday, if they just cut you off because they don’t like that business, you have recourse here in this new piece of legislation.”
Patronis touted the bill at Thursday’s press conference as protecting Floridians against ESG, and boasted that the state is in a strong financial position.
“This legislation will also support Florida taxpayers and fights IRS overreach by creating the Florida Taxpayer Advocate,” Patronis said recently on the bill’s passage. “This new office will ensure Floridians have a seat at the table and a fighter by their side when the IRS comes knocking. We are also working to protect policyholders, by requiring insurance carriers to have staff who can expedite and short-circuit major insurance issues before they arise.”
He said how Florida’s growth in population has been largely driven by people rejecting left wing policies in other parts of the country.
“The type of people that we’re getting here are the people that we want,” he continued. “And they’re leaving these blue states that are broken in policy, they’re broken in morals and they’re broken finically, and they’re coming to the free state of Florida.”
Brian Wolfberg, the CEO and president of VyStar credit union, thanked the state for its continued commitment in partnering and working with credit unions across Florida.
“Public funds should always be placed where they can earn the best return in a safe manner, and we will see going forward that, in many cases, that will be with Florida’s credit unions,” he said.
The bill was filed by Rep. Chip LaMarca, R-Lighthouse Point. It took effect upon being signed.

DeSantis signs bill barring ideologically charged teacher training requirements.
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation on Thursday prohibiting ideology-based requirements for teacher certifications in the state.
The bill, HB 1291, prevents teacher certification programs from “distorting historical events” or embracing politically ideological positions on race, sex and gender.
Specifically, the programs will not be allowed to claim that things like systemic racism, sexism, oppression or privilege are inherent in systems of power.
DeSantis explained during a press conference that even if the state bans critical race theory or other ideological curriculum, teachers are still learning to teach students these concepts during their educator preparation training.
“This bill prohibits the indoctrination in teacher preparation,” DeSantis said. “There’s not gonna be DEI, there’s not gonna be any of the bogus history, it’s just gonna be standard teacher preparation without having an ideological agenda.”
“Parents want to send their kids to school knowing they get an education,” he continued. “I don’t think they’re interested in an indoctrination.”
“To say you’re going to take one viewpoint, one perceptive, and try to impose that as the standard for curriculum, that doesn’t work in Florida and we don’t do it,” he added.
Rep. Berny Jacques, R-Seminole, one of the main sponsors of the bill, thanked the governor for signing the legislation and advocating for teachers.
He reflected on when he called the left wing indoctrination “woke garbage” on the House floor, while debating Democrats during the bill’s consideration.
“You can imagine a lot of the Democrats, they didn’t like it too much. They were calling a point of order, they said I broke decorum, asking the speaker to admonish me,” Jacques said. “So I took a deep breath and I came bake with a more polite term, and I called it woke rubbish.”
“The fact of the matter is this, regardless of how you slice it, whether it’s CRT or DEI, all of that stuff is simply trash,” he said. “And with the signature today of HB 1291, governor, we will once and for all take out the trash here in the state of Florida.”
An elementary school teacher in Duval County expressed her thanks to the governor for his work in strengthening educator preparation programs.
She talked about her own experience teaching in a private school that allows for her to educate. students on accurate history.
“It saddens me however that not every educator in this country gets the opportunity to witness this great, healthy cultivation of knowledge,” she said.
She warned how teachers who grew up without a strong set of morals and values can end up blindly leading future generations.
“What this bill is so wonderfully providing is an opportunity for educators to not be blind anymore,” she continued. “The goal is to make more educators feel confident about what history is without hidden agendas.”
In addition to Jacques, the legislation was sponsored by Rep. John Snyder, R-Stuart, and Sen. Blaise Ingoglia, R-Spring Hill.
It’s set to go into effect on July 1.

John Fetterman supports new DeSantis-signed lab grown meat ban, scathes fake meat as ‘slop.’
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Democratic Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman came out in support of legislation banning lab grown meat recently signed in Florida by Gov. Ron DeSantis.
The comments came in a leadup to Fetterman’s expected keynote speaker appearance at the Florida Democratic Party’s Leadership Blue 2024 event.
“Pains me deeply to agree with Crash-and-Burn Ron, but I co-sign this,” Fetterman said on social media, referencing to DeSantis’ signing of the bill.
“As a member of @SenateAgDems and as some dude who would never serve that slop to my kids, I stand with our American ranchers and farmers,” he said.
The newly signed law prohibits and creates penalties for the manufacturing, sale or distribution of cultivated meat in the state.
It also preempts the regulation of electric vehicle charging stations to the state and prohibits local governments from implementing their own policies.
