tous
Gets it. If NBC's Dateline television producers were aware of it, they would have certainly rigged a Pinto to kersplode on TV. Sadly, all they had to work with was a Chevrolet pick up truck.

I remember them using Estes rocket engines to do that.

How much did that cost Dateline after the courts finished? Likewise, how much did exploding Pintos cost Ford?

Schmidt Meister
1928 Nelson-Lemoon Stake Bed Truck. A.R. LeMoon sold his first truck in 1906, bda, the Nelson & LeMoon company of Chicago. A pre-World War II heavy-commercial vehicle from an almost never heard of company, this is one of only a few Nelson-LeMoon trucks to still exist. In business for 29 years, the company only produced approximately 3,000 trucks. The owner found this truck in a Chicago warehouse in 1979. Complete frame-off restoration over a period of 30 years as parts were located and time allowed; completed in 2010. White Oak cab restored to lookalike original condition in front of a solid flatbed with staked sides. Waukesha inline 6-cylinder engine. Rebuilt 4-speed manual transmission and rear end. Rebuilt wooden cab with tan over brown exterior. 4,000 GVWR and 4300 chassis weight.
