We are lucky. We have a small local grocery store chain (Harmons) that brings them once a year. They do a big roasting event for a week. That’s where I got the book.

They last a good while in the freezer, so I used to buy several pounds of them whenever the vendors showed up.

My grandparents knew him.  He lived in Cleveland and his real last name was Boiardi.  The Food that Built America had a show about him.  Apparently it was the A&P grocery store that required the name change when they agreed to carry his product.

Yup...first time I saw carrots in spaghetti sauce was at at small trattoria around the corner from the San Marco hotel in Luca.  I stayed there for about months during my first job in Italy.

Chef Boiardi likes your buttered noodles too.

My mother used to buy these Chef Boy-Ar-Dee pizza kits and then buy pepperoni and mozzarella cheese to top it. To this day, that is one of my favorite styles of pizza crust.

We used to buy it too when first married.  Sauce came in cans.

Oh God!  I love Buttered Noodles along with my family, it's funny that no one other than family knew what I was talking about when mentioning buttered noodles.  They had no idea.

Thanks for the memory, it's been years and I think it's time for Buttered Noodles again......  Thank you!
