Among other news it has been noted that the swimming pools on the Titanic still contain water.

I heard they upgraded to waterbeds as well.

Redneck engineering ?

Yep and they have a backup ladder up on the landing, in case the job needs some shoring up. Always thinking ahead, those guys.

Or maybe a touch of OCD, or both. Beautiful work though.

Not sure what I am looking at, but I am impressed.

Just a guess, but it could be distribution manifolds for a multi-zone radiant heat system.

I have a small scar on my forehead just above the bridge of my nose, where my oldest brother accidentally threw me headfirst into a cast iron radiator, when I was six or seven. Well, the throw was on purpose, but he didn't mean for me to bust my head on the radiator. The wound wasn't very large, but I bled like a stuck pig.

Not all radiant heat is delivered via cast iron radiator.

Some folk have heated floors.

The older I get, the more I like the idea of radiant heating in the floors. My feet never used to get cold, but they seem to be getting over that.
