gwalchmai Posted July 11, 2021 Share Posted July 11, 2021 At my daughter's recent wedding dinner the groom's mom sat next to me. She's a delightful lady. Her boyfriend sat next to her. He was drunk as a bicycle. I've never really understood people getting drunk at social gatherings. Most of us can afford booze, so it's not a matter of taking advantage of free libations. I understand people not being at ease in such situations, heck, I'm the worst, but the apologies later are worse than the temporary unease during the event. I once asked Mrs. Historian why she is so much different than my out-laws (i mean in-laws). She pointed out it was obvious. She was the only child of the second marriage.
