Ford Model-T Truck hauling 8,000 pounds of hay down a paved country road in 1921. The dried fodder seems to overwhelm the small truck, yet the driver gamely travels along. Model Ts were popular for transporting harvest crops. They had earned a tough reputation among farmers who knew the vehicles could handle hard work.

Fact:  If you have two surfaces cutting, as in a reel mower, when you get those two surfaces so they are just in brushing contact with each other as they cut, they will keep sharpening each cutting edge as long as they keep brushing each other while rotating.

Company I cunsulted  with for my company, used this to have their latest design mower sharpen itself as it worked.  The cost of downtime for sharpening the mower was a commercial cost problem.  The problem was that they couldn't stop the blades from occasionally actually hitting each other and causing damage.  Auto feed to keep the edges in contact without forcing/jamming them together was a problem.
