The Biggsly
I keep wanting to move down south. I have to make sure that Florida keeps the socialist out first.

janice6
I spent a week in Fargo, No. Dakota in the "dead" of Winter. The wind never stopped blowing the snow, it was 10 Below all week and you couldn't find a place out of the wind. I was in San Diego, CA one time when the temp was in the 60. I never saw so many expensive Down Coats even in Minnesota, everyone had them. I watched Duval Street in Key West when it was in the 60's, same as CA, everyone was in Winter jackets (where do they get them down there?) and bundled up! 60's in MN means that Summer has arrived!

deputy tom
The two different Almanacs are giving two different forecasts for PA. I'm hoping for the Old Farmers Almanac to be the correct one. tom. https://www.almanac.com/content/difference-between-old-farmers-almanac-and-other-almanacs

Mike
This reminded me I need to go buy a spark plug and quart of oil to get the snow blower ready for winter.

Huaco Kid
I've never blown snow. And I haven't shoveled snow since, like, high school. I just drive over it. By the end of winter, you might have to take a couple steps up to[/i] the driveway, but it's driveable. It might be a bobsled track, but eh. And that's even in a sub-compact. Walt Longmire
Local lore says the snow will get as deep as the fireweed is tall. Our fireweed is 6' tall this year.
Huaco Kid
We've got woolly bears for that. All the ones I've seen so far this year have been solid black. Dum!-dum!-dum!
DieselMcBadass
unlike southerners we can operate in the snow. They shut the state down for an inch and we just send it and go through a foot of the stuff to get to the store for more beer.

PNWguy
We had an exceptionally bad summer for Yellow Jackets this year. Old Timers are saying that means a bad winter. Last summer was also bad for yellow jackets and it was also a fairly bad winter as well.

But if it should drop to 50°, everyone has to run around in down parkas, scarfs and trapper's hats. The schools will at least have a delay because precious few can survive such adversity.
