The Marines sent me to Hawaii and gave me a Jeep and a Topo map of the big island. Didn’t even have a compass. Just the map and dead reckoning from the sun. Drove all over with no problems. But how lost can you get on an island? Drive downhill, hit the beach, drive the main road left or right until you hit the inland road you wanted.
