Batesmotel
When riding in the back of a pickup truck to go fishing with friends wasn’t a crime against humanity. 2
Mrs.Cicero
I miss the 70s, when 8 year olds could hop on their bikes or put on their skates and ride or whatever a few miles away from home alone to the Baskin Robbins ice cream shop without everyone screaming about child neglect/endangerment and calling the cops. I wish my kids could have had a childhood more like mine in that respect. It got a little better when we moved to the farmette and I told them they could wander anywhere on 48 acres as long as they stayed out of the river, but it would have been nice if they could’ve biked all over the neighborhood when they visited my parents, too. 1
janice6
I miss the 50's when your kids could walk to the park four blocks away and listen to music then play until bedtime in the dark. We would then walk home without any worry of weirdos knowing that every house's front door was a refuge for a kid in trouble. Every father would defend other men's kids. We went for a weeks vacation to Illinois without locking our house, never a problem.
