M&P15T
At that age, he was probably anxious to die. Nothing good about living to that age, from the interviews I've seen.

My grandfather, in the last year of his life, told me on several occasions "don't get old" I told him I didn't like the alternatives. (He was 96 years old, and also served in WWII and Korean conflicts.)

Mrs.Cicero
My grandfather, who lived alone from the age of 88-99, and in assisted living from 99-102 (he sat down in his easy chair one day and couldn't get up, so at that point he decided he could use assistance) said that the one bad thing (because he was in good health right up to the last two weeks, although he needed a walker, and eventually used a wheel chair the last two years mostly because he could roll it faster than he could walk), anyway, the one bad thing was outliving his friends and family (he was one of 12 children, and one of his own children died before he did).
