Smooth or Chunky?

I have always preferred smooth.

While on the subject, I was getting the RV ready for a month in Santa Fe and was cleaning the coffee grinder that I keep in there when I saw a bag of macadamia nuts. I tossed a handful in the grinder and Wow!. I don't know if I can ever go back to peanut butter!

That sounds like an expensive sandwich spread.

For my part, smooth PB is the pinnacle of sandwich spreads. Those of you that prefer chunky need mental evaluations. Spreadability alone should decide the matter. How many times do you have to tear a whole in your bread before you come over to the smooth side?

As for brands, it’s Peter Pan. Accept no substitutes. Your thoughts?

I don’t even know you.

and if you had real bread from the northwest, built like a steak and not that wimpy southern white bread, you could spread real peanut butter without tearing it.  :D

You a-sayin' that Texas bread t'ain't up to hippie bread?  :miff:

There's a reason they call Texas toast Texas toast.

And when I find out what that reason is, I'll tell y'all.

At least it isn't Bunny bread.

Chunky peanut butter and honey sandwich (for when I run out of grape jelly). Smooth is for the old man who only has four teeth left, my daughter, and the dog. As far as peanut butter on celery, I'll give you that one and accept smooth - the same with peanut butter on apples.

JIF Creamy Peanut Butter.

For PBJ, I use Smuckers Blackberry Jam.

Food threads need pictures!

White bread - yum!

To ramp this thread up a notch I’ll posit that proper, and fancy PB&J sandwiches really only require your favorite peanut butter, and favorite jelly...BUT, the two HAVE to be mixed together in a small bowl before spreading the goodness onto your bread. Jelly falling off everywhere, and soaking into the bread are major non-learned faux pas. Learn it, live it, love it.

NOTE: Same mixing gig with PB, and banana sandwiches, which are truly delicious.
