They also added about $200 to the price tag. I think the XD is still made in Croatia.

The Croatian company designed it and made it for a few years. Springfield either licenses or bought the design outright. I would bet the parts from an XD a few years newer would fit that gun.

I’m sure there is a lot of collaboration with Springfield, but the same company has always produced the pistol.

Moshe
My wife is fond of them. She likes the 1911 back strap safety. I personally don't own an XD anymore. My only striker fired pistols are Glocks. But, if HK can fit the bill I tend to go that way. I like pistols more that have an external hammer that can be carried cocked and locked.

Steelharp
I would love to have a Caracal. I had one of the recalled ones. I hated sending it back, the frame cracked. If the new batch is like those without issues, probably the best 9mm ever.

PATCHMAN
At the 2014 SHOT show, I got a Caracal polo shirt from their booth. Why on earth did they decide on white?
Huaco Kid
A long, long, long time ago, my bestest biker friend (actually my best friend ever. But, Bob disappeared suddenly, close to graduation. I suspect he's in the Brazos.) tooke me to a pawn shop for my first gun. A Jennings .22. I don't remember. $20.
Huaco Kid
I astill have it. This gun really WILL go off by itself. It's done it. It's fun because, sometimes it'll go full-auto. Dump the whole mag. It's been sitting on the pic-i-nic table, way over there, all by itself, and went off.
Huaco Kid
It's a really good $20 pawn shop gun.
Huaco Kid
I don't do pawn-shop anything. Cause I don't know how. I look at the guitar, and not the pneumatic tools.. I have no pneumaticic cutters. I'm a bad negotiator. I know how to gamble. And this $700 guitar? $40? That'll get you beat up on the way out.
