Power shifting my wife's, I could get it to chirp the rear wheels going into each of the first three gears.  That 2 liter had possibilities.

My wife got pissed at me for teaching my son how to drive the manual without using the clutch.  You had to "be the drivetrain".

I bought my wife one of those.  Since it's Minnesota, I put a topper on it.

All the little kids at my kid's grade school wanted to ride in it like my daughters could.  They would freeze their little asses off just to  be envied by their peers.

My wife loved it.

At 20,000 miles it spun a rod bearing.  The dealer said that they were very reliable cars.  I told him I only had one, and it was a piece of crap engine.  My data was better than his opinion.

Gotta love Mopar power. The GTX was a fun ride. I put a lot of miles on one, with a 440/4-speed. It handled like a bus, but point it in a straight line and watch it go.

My first time behind the wheel of a brand new GTO convertible was disappointing.  I could accelerate quick from stop lights, but in speeding down the freeway, I downshifted while braking, then accelerating to make an off ramp and the rear axle wrapped up and slammed into the body like a big hammer.

I didn't like that, and the fact that during the turn to the ramp, it handled like it was suspended in the center by a single rubber grommet.

My first car was a Coronet. Kind of a featureless GTX

My brother had one of those too. It was gold with a six cyl. three on the tree and was $1,900.00 new. tom.

Those old trucks would run forever. I put a ton of miles on a ‘66, with a 292/3spd. Great old truck.

A few years ago one of our used car lot customers bought his father one of these and had it gone over at their mechanic's shop. He bought a few parts from us for the repairs and gave it to his father for a monumental birthday present. tom.
