pipedreams
Consumer inflation hit an all-time high in August, reaching 9.8 percent, the highest in 30 years. The biggest increases were in housing and transport costs. https://www.technocracy.news/renewable-energy-fails-sweden-braces-for-winter-of-power-cuts/ https://rmx.news/economy/sweden-braces-for-a-winter-of-power-shortages/ "The state energy supplier is trying to prepare for the winter with austerity tips, for example, washing at night, installing LED light bulbs, and turning down the heating. They are also openly talking about the possibility of partial power cuts. In this case, Swedes are asked to insulate windows, gather the whole family in a single room, and build a makeshift hut out of blankets. The Moderate Party, which is about to form a new government, supports the expansion of nuclear power. They have already announced that they will spend 400 million Swedish krona (€36 million) on this, but it is certainly not a solution to the energy shortages expected this winter."

wjv
Wind Turbines are just fine. The technology works as expected. But wind turbines at they current level of technology were NEVER meant to be a PRIMARY energy source. They were meant to be a second or third layer of supplementary power. This was good since the US and local governments were tearing down dams and prohibiting any new nuke, gas or coal power plants. It's the politicians and the rabid left (neither of whom understand power technology) who have pushed to make wind and solar a primary source of energy, despite the limits of the technology. Don't blame the wind farms. Blame the policy setting political and activist idiots who don't know what they are doing (or do know what they are doing and are evil scum). . . 1

Once hydro is in place it is the least expensive and most reliable “green” energy. With modern motor/generator technology (see Raccoon Mountain) and pumped storage it can also increase system efficiency.

We use it here to talk about lakes and ponds all the time in conversational text.
wjv
Silt is a solid, dust-like sediment that water, ice, and wind transport and deposit. Silt is made up of rock and mineral particles that are larger than clay but smaller than sand. Individual silt particles are so small that they are difficult to see.

Isn't Sweden one of those Scandinavian countries that the Liberal/Sozi's here in this country always point to as an example of well socialism works?
