I went on the internet and found that some birds put spiders in their nest to kill the parasites that feed on the baby chicks. But then again our mothers slathered us in Mercurochrome also. One time I got Lice from some baby Red Squirrels, and I was afraid to tell my mother, so I treated them with Lysol. I finally won the battle. My go to as a youngster was Merthiolate and Lysol.
