I think HMS Victory sank two or three times and had to be raised. She also had her designation changed on more than one occasion, for a period she was not even a warship. I don't know how in the minutia of records thaton her being the oldest commissioned ship afloat.

I do know if she had faced the USS Constitution she would be a distant memory of fish habitat right now.

Yeah, reading that WiKi about HMS Victory it seemed a stretch to say she was in continuous commission since launch.
