I long ago figured out when giving directions to my husband to give him the distances and Directions (NSEW).  When giving directions to my girlfriends, to give them landmarks and right/left.  This has applied to a whole slew of other things...

and... it's a towel hook.  Why on earth would I have a coat on in the bathroom to begin with?  And if I'm wearing a cardigan in the house 'cause I'm cold, it's going to be just as cold in the bathroom and I'm not taking it off.  It's not like it's in the way of taking care of business.

We do, in fact, have a hook upon our guest bathroom wall. 

For hanging your duty belt on...if you need to.

All the bathrooms at work have them for the same reason.
