gwalchmai
Update: I took y'all's advice and didn't cut the Model 12's barrel. Instead, I swapped an older revolver for this little gem: 12ga Ithaca 37 Featherweight with 20" smoothbore DeerSlayer barrel. I think I'll keep it stoked with two rounds of #4 shot followed by 00 for home defense. Makes a comforting click-clack welcome sound.
gwalchmai
So, I was poking around the garage and found a full box of Win 12ga #6 "game loads" I'd forgotten about. I found them while getting another estate sale ready back in September and squirreled them away.

blueiron
The world is full of fake riot guns and 1932 Ford hot rods with Chevy engines. It's far more rare to see an original 1955 Packard Caribbean or a Winchester model 12 from the 1920s that are not butchered.

Pull the trigger - hold it back and rack the action. Watch the lead fly! I miss the old Ithaca.

Just what you'd expect.

I have a ChiCom replica but have never tried slam fire so I don’t know how completely the Winchester was copied.
blueiron
The Norinco gun is also slam-fire. Lean it against a shaky table, loaded, in a room and slam the door. It'll probably fire. ? Chi-com quality.
