On a tangent, near here, in Mayretta, Ga, Lockheed (or Lockheed-Martin, or Martin-Marietta, or whatever they're calling themselves this week) has a big plant where they made B-29s, C-130s, C-5s, etc. Old-timers still call it "the Bell Bomber plant" because Bell built in during the war. 3 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

When I grew up they were referred to as the same name as a current pickup truck is called today.
