Corrupt, suspect, underhanded...of course. Illegal, no asking another country to help in our elections is nothing new and has been going on for nearly as long. And we have interfered in other countries elections as much if not more. The illegal part is promising something for the help or threatening to take something unless help is provided, the dreaded Quid Pro Quo. so Biden threatening to stop aid unless Ukraine stops the prosecutor investigating an American company (that just happens to be run by his son) isn’t illegal because he didn’t ask for election interference at the same time. It’s damaging politically and will be well used by the opposition as it always has and always will on both sides. the Clintons scandals that are listed everywhere aren’t illegal, just normal course of political business. Hillary’s email server isn’t illegal but her mishandling of classified material is. Bills scandals with Monica aren’t illegal, perjury and rape are. but the focus is on the politically embarrassing scandals rather than the illegal acts. Because....truthfully...in past practice and historically....they are above the law. All high level politicians are. So you campaign on the salacious stuff, win elections on hopes of “lock her up” but not prosecute them so when they are in power they don’t prosecute you. People forget that Nixon was never impeached, he resigned before the House voted on impeachment charges, Clinton was impeached but not removed from office as he was not convicted (which is different from being acquitted in political speak) no one has been removed from office, never have, never will. But it “sells” with the respective bases .Arguably Bill’s dalliances with Monica (and any other interns) were illegal for the same reason that dalliances by a college professor with a student would be illegal - even if all the dalliances were consensual. The “undue influence” of a person in authority factor. Be that as it may, the impeachment charged him with perjury - not ******* around.
