Major U.S. Retailers Suddenly Cancelling Billions Of Dollars

“Walmart, Target and other major U.S. retailers are literally canceling billions of dollars in orders ahead of the coming holiday season,”

This makes absolutely zero sense.

John David Rainey, Walmart’s EVP and CFO, said it had cleared most summer inventory, was reducing exposure in electronics, home and sporting goods, and canceled “billions of dollars in orders” to realign inventories. He said, “Our actions in Q3 will allow us to make significant progress toward rationalizing absolute levels and mix, which will enable our stores to be well positioned ahead of the holiday season.”

Meanwhile, Target canceled “more than $1.5 billion” in orders.

Christina Hennington, Target’s EVP and chief growth officer, said steps being taken by the discounter’s buying team include “rigorously reforecasting expectations for the balance of the year and beyond and determining where to reduce future receipts and orders.

Kohl’s and Under Armour have also canceled a large number of orders.

Footwear News writes:

Kohl’s has also pulled back on order receipts and increased promotions to get through an inventory glut.

“We have taken action to address inventory, including increasing promotions, being aggressive on clearing excess inventory and pulling back on receipts,” said Kohl’s CFO Jill Timm in a call with investors.

Under Armour also said it made some proactive cancellations due to supply chain constraints to ensure that “the right inventory was coming in at the right time,” said interim president and CEO Colin Browne in a call with investors.

Activists suing DeSantis over Martha’s Vineyard flights received over $1.3M from George Soros network
The activist group at the center of a class-action lawsuit against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and other Florida officials for migrant flights to Martha’s Vineyard has received nearly $1.4 million from George Soros’ Open Society network.
Lawyers for Civil Rights, a nonprofit immigrant advocacy group, filed the lawsuit on behalf of Alianza Americas, according to a press release Tuesday that described the latter group as “a network of migrant-led organizations supporting immigrants across the United States.”
Alianza Americas has received a total of $1,383,947 from George Soros’ Open Society Foundations between 2016 and 2020, OSF’s records show.
The grants came from three of his nonprofits: Open Society Institute, Open Society Policy Center and Foundation to Promote Open Society.
The grants were to support policy advocacy on immigration, a Global Compact for Migration initiative and to strengthen the group's international work in Central America and Mexico.
The law firm filing the suit, Lawyers for Civil Rights, received $50,000 from the Borealis Philanthropy in 2019, tax forms show. Borealis is a left-wing donor-advised fund that acts as an intermediary steering Democratic money to organizations.
Borealis has partnered with Black Lives Matter and the left-wing Marguerite Casey Foundation, which advocates for the abolishment of policing and prisons.
The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation has also awarded $1.26 million to Alianza Americas between 2008 and 2020, according to grants posted on its website.

California is a on a serious roll. I just have to wonder, if it’s so darned important why not ban the sale now? How about banning the use of big rigs? You know, if Saving Earth From Climate Doom is so important?
California seeks to ban sales of diesel big rigs in a bold bid to cut pollution
Saying they had a “moral obligation,” California regulators could soon ban the sale of diesel big rigs by 2040, ending a long reliance on the polluting vehicles that are the backbone of the American economy.
The proposal by staff of the California Air Resources Board would further require that, by 2035, medium- and heavy-duty trucks entering ports and railyards must be zero emission and that state and local government fleets be so by 2027.
The new regulations would likely demand a radical buildup of electric charging infrastructure, placing new stresses on California’s already fragile power grid and force the trucking industry to reshape how it does business. Regulators and activists say any disruption would ultimately be outweighed by lives and money saved.
It’s very easy to say this, but, once the price hikes hit, it’ll be real. Once truckers decide to blow off California ports (which is already a problem with the existing PRC requirements) and it’s harder to get goods, it’ll be real. If Mexico is smart, they’ll work to make ports for ships, with special access and roads for truckers, reduced or no tariffs, moving the goods through New Mexico, Arizona, and Texas
“Pound for pound, heavy-duty trucks are putting out far more pollution than anything else on the road,” said Will Barrett, national senior director for clean air advocacy with the American Lung Assn. “And that’s really directly contributing to the fact that California has the worst air pollution in the country.”
The California Air Resources Board, which must vote on the truck proposal, is expected to consider it Oct. 27.
You know this will pass. And, in fairness, the non-greenhouse gas elements of their exhausts are bad for air quality, but, much better than they used to be. It’s just a matter of not really having an alternative that works as well, as dependable, and affordable, nor is there the infrastructure available.
Remember, all the members are appointed, not elected, so, they have zero accountability to the citizens, and can make massive decisions all on their own. And I still have not seen any reporter ask any of the members if they’ve switched to electric vehicles in their own lives.

Georgia Democrat Stacey Abrams said in a recently surfaced video that at six weeks, unborn babies’ heartbeats aren’t real but a “manufactured sound designed” to take away women’s rights.
Abrams is again campaigning to be governor of Georgia after a failed run in 2018. Notably, the Democrat refused to traditionally concede the race to Republican Gov. Brian Kemp, suggesting “voter suppression” and a broken system.
“There is no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks,” Abrams said while serving on a panel. “It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman’s body in place of her.”

It’s unclear how the heartbeat is actually a “manufactured sound,” as described by Abrams, and who exactly is manufacturing it.
However, many scholars, scientists, and doctors agree that an unborn child’s heart typically starts beating around six weeks gestation. Peer-reviewed science has found the following, the nonprofit Charlotte Lozier Institute (CLI) has outlined:
The heart is actively beating at 6 weeks. Between conception and birth the baby’s heart will beat approximately 54 million times.
The baby’s average heart rate is 98 BPM. This will rise to 175 BPM by 9 weeks’ gestation.
The presence of a heartbeat at 6-8 weeks’ gestation correlates with a live birth rate of 98% in normal pregnancies without intervention.
The brain has divided into three primary sections responsible for sensing and decision-making, moving and tracking objects, and vital body functions.
Eyes, ears, and nose start forming.
“While some people falsely claim that a preborn baby at 6 weeks’ gestation is just a clump of cells, science demonstrates the baby is already a complex human being,” asserted Dr. Tara Sander Lee, a senior fellow and director of life sciences at CLI. “A preborn baby’s heart is actively beating at 6 weeks and will have already beat nearly 16 million times by 15 weeks. In fact, at 6 weeks’ gestation, the baby’s heart rate is about 98 beats per minute, which can be easily detected by ultrasound.”
