railfancwb Posted March 29, 2019 Share Posted March 29, 2019 This is a spillway in the dam at Fisherman’s Park in Shelbyville TN. The light colored piece at the top appears to be a concrete beam, similar to a concrete railroad tie. Below that, all the way to the bottom of the dam, looks like a stack of wooden railroad ties. So far I have been unable to capture that layered appearance in a photo. The reason for such construction: to allow the lake to be drained by removing the ties.
