Supposedly more sailors were injured and killed because of flying splinters than by direct hits from shots fired.

The Minesweeper I served on in the Navy was a wooden ship.  We were warned that if we ever had to take small arms fire, out on deck was safer than under cover also due to splinters.

Then, if you were out on deck you were issued a Thompson to return fire.  We didn't have much to threaten anyone with.

Falcon 9 Boostback
March 12, 2020

Short star trails appear in this single 84 second long exposure, taken on March 6 from a rotating planet. The remarkable scene also captures the flight of a Falcon 9 rocket and Dragon cargo spacecraft over Cape Canaveral Air Force Station shortly after launch, on a resupply mission bound for the International Space Station.
