I think I probably moved out of the house,  for a day and a half,  and Mom and Dad burned the HIFi in  a bonfire.

I don't remember where it went.

It was too potent for the next generation to have.

They would have burned it up with New-Wave,  and wouldn't even know how to fix it.

It was a mercy burning.

Back then,  if you wanted a mix-tape,

You had to have a portable cassette player,  next to the radio,  with the "remote" lanyard button.

And lying awake in bed,  totally not listening to 13Q,  because that makes you gay.

And when the song you wanted,   you flicked the button.

So you got the song.  But there was always a in-decipherable DJ blurb,  before and after.

It's all we had.

Starting in the 1980s, the station started playing the Beat Farmers song Happy Boy every Friday around 3 p.m. at the start of the afternoon drive time shift to signal the end of the work week and the start of the weekend. On Fridays at noon, they air a recording of the band KISS saying; "Hey yinz guys! It's FRIDAY!!", immediately followed by "Rock and Roll All Nite".

My best bud grew up in Cleveland.  They had WMMS (Weed Makes Me Smile)

Signing on in 1946 as the FM adjunct to WHK, the WMMS call letters were affixed in 1968 under Metromedia ownership, having stood for "MetroMedia Stereo" and meant as a compliment to the newly established progressive rock format, but have since taken on a variety of other meanings. Created in April 1974 as "an ironic twist on Cleveland's down-and-out reputation as a decaying Rust Belt city," the station's longtime promotional mascot has been "The Buzzard".[31

He said they ruled,  but we all know they suck.

There's some city on the Ohio border (Ohio / Kentucky?) (Ohio / Indiana?), where everyone gathers once each year,  for their radio stations,  with a boat in the middle of the river, measuring sound.

And they all get drunk all day and scream-yell back and forth,  over the river,  to see who can yell the loudest.

And then  the winners have the Best R&R, evar!

I've worked for a lot of contractor friends.  We'd go to the bars every day for lunch (shots, and beers, and hoagies).

EVERYONE you knew,  was at the bars at noon.

(that's where my friend lined-up and contracted all of his work)

But

There was "half-day Friday".

KISS would tip us off.

So....  you'd have to go to lunch...

AND NEVER GO BACK!!!  HAHAHAHA!

I guess that wall ain't gettin' painted today.
