Administrators Eric Posted April 20, 2020 Administrators Share Posted April 20, 2020 Here is an American Shooter video I found. The first segment is a tour of the Federal Ammunition factory. Interesting stuff. 2

Historian
One of my favorite rounds of all time is the Hornady .47-70. You can almost bet that my ammunition ran through the same plant. I only carry Hornady. That's a personal preference. That some Golden Saber in .45. Hornday has never failed to kill what i shot if i do my part. railfancwb
A few years ago ammunition manufacturing videos seemed super secret. Now it seems that all the majors and a few second tear players have them available.

janice6
I drive by them all the time. My son worked for their parent company and he would get a marvelous cut in price on the best Self Defense ammo.
janice6
The video mentioned the primers were made in a separate block house. My father worked at Twin Cities Arsenal in the 50 Caliber Plant during WWII. One day he told me of a primer block house being blown right out of the ground. They would watch the Crows and drive as fast as they could to where the Crows would land, to pick up human remains. He said they guess that the worker must have dropped a tray or more of primers, setting off everything.
