Ohhhhhh.  What a bunch of hugs...….  I am getting more melancholy as my old dog gets older.  I can't replace him, but I don't want to lose him either.

The curse/blessing of aging at different rates by design.

I lost my then oldest cat last year at 14+, as well as a couple younger ones. Ages of the present group range from 2-1/2 to 12.

At my age, it is possible some will outlast me and I do not wish to magnify that by getting more kittens regardless of how much I enjoy them.

In fact, had a pregnant cat not adopted me 2-1/2 years ago my youngest would be 7.

Just now, Ricordo said:

Proof that it isn't the price of the present that counts.

A good gift is given when you remember what the person wants and likes, instead of what you want and like.

It's not hard.  Just listen to them when they talk.  Then remember what they said.  You can find them the best present every time.

A young girl once said to me, "how did you know I liked the color Purple, and Betty Boop?"

I said I remember her saying that a while ago.

She said, "A man that listens and remembers, priceless!"

I can't tell you how much that remark meant to me!

The best gifts are those that the person either can't afford, or they consider frivolous.

Grand children and Great Grand children, make gift giving a  very special event.
