The Bridges at Toko-Ri movie poster showed a painting of a McDonald's () F2H Banshee bombing a  bridge, as depicted in Michener's book, but when the film was made in 1955 Banshees had been mostly supplanted by Grumman F9F Panthers, and they were used in filming.

:miff:

The short, "Where do we get such men?" speech by the Frederick March character at the end  is a great moment in movies.

The yute-tubes doesn't have a clip of just that speech, only the ending starting in the ditch which is about ten minutes, but even that is worth watching.

Though I have seen it a bazillion times, a movie I will always sit and watch.

NB  F2H Banshee entered service in 1949; as did the F9F Panther; early successful jet aircraft and no, I was not on that project.

I'll never forget the sound of horror when German Tornadoes did their low path test flights.

Interesting loadout on RAF Panavia Tornado [1280 × 914] : MissilePorn

The night BEFORE Desert Storm...We thought the world was coming to an end with the 3 min. take offs.  They were just movin north, for the start...The next night. They weren't Tornado's.
